Cobratex will be attending the 12th World Bamboo Congress in Taiwan !

The twelfth World Bamboo Congress will be held in Taiwan from 18 to 22 April 2024. During these five days, bamboo will once again be in the spotlight. This new congress, organised by the World Bamboo Organisation, will bring together professionals from all over the world and showcase Taiwan’s bamboo culture (in the broadest sense). As a permanent member of the World Bamboo Organisation (see our previous article), we are invited to take an active part in this world congress.

For this twelfth edition of the World Bamboo Congress, Taiwan is the country selected to hold the title of new world bamboo capital. This concept, launched in 1984 by the World Bamboo Organisation (WBO), aims to share all the technological developments and cultural customs associated with bamboo.

This global event will take place over five days and will be spread across a number of sites, including the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in Hsinchu and the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute in Caoton. Taiwan has a large bamboo ecosystem, from plantations of specific varieties to industrial processing technologies, and bamboo culture has been part of Taiwanese people’s daily lives for many generations.

The World Bamboo Congress is expecting over 500 visitors, half of whom will be from some thirty international countries. The programme for this international congress includes workshops, exhibitions and conferences to discover, share and discuss key topics such as: soil restoration, circular economy, sustainable building, agriculture, art, design, socio-economic impacts, industrial technologies, crafts, etc.

The entire Cobratex team warmly thanks the World Bamboo Organisation, the Taiwan Bamboo Society and the Taiwanese Forest and Nature Conservancy for organising this world congress. Cobratex has been officially invited to take its place alongside major players from the global bamboo industry. We will be presenting our company and sharing our technological achievements and innovations in fibre and composite reinforcements for a wide range of industries. This congress will be another opportunity for us to create or consolidate key strategic relationships.
